So I've been thinking about this income strategy with $STRC or $STRK shares and borrowing against them on IBKR.
Keep reading because this is interesting.
I heard from @hillery_dan that you can borrow against your shares on IBKR with about a 5% cost of borrowing.
Now here's where it gets crazy:
If STRC gives you a ~10% yield, you're basically earning 5% profit just by accessing capital.
Let me break this down:
- You hold STRC/STRK (Bitcoin exposure + yield)
- You borrow against them at 5% cost
- STRC pay you 10% yield
- Net result: You're making 5% WHILE having access to capital
And here's the main benefit: You're not paying taxes because you're not selling anything. You're just borrowing against it.
The whole point of STRC is to:
1. Strip away the Bitcoin volatility
2. Give you a monthly yield
3. Let you access liquidity you can reinvest in BTC (or whatever you want)
4. You're literally earning money by accessing capital
It's like having your cake and eating it too.
You keep your Bitcoin exposure, you generate yield, you get liquid capital to deploy, and you don't trigger a taxable event.
Seems like a no-brainer to me... what do you think?
